Life Coaching is a powerful and supportive relationship which enables people to achieve extraordinary results in their lives.
How will coaching benefit me?
You will:

- identify your core strengths and values
- uncover your true potential
- dispel your self-limiting beliefs
- find direction
- see the contribution you are here to make
- create exciting, meaningful goals that reflect your unique sense of purpose
- enhance the quality of your life
- generate your own strategies in order to take action
- move through obstacles
- reach your goals with clarity, focus and ease
- complete unfinished business
- be encouraged to celebrate your achievement
- have someone in your corner who recognises your strengths and acknowledges your successes
A coach will also empower you to be accountable and responsible for your own choices and actions.

A Life Coach is…
“…. someone who has grounding in philosophical and spiritual principles and is thoroughly trained in pragmatic approaches that help people clarify their life’s intentions and goals and how to express them in their lives. A coach is a person who has rigorous training in how to support people past their personal limitations into living the life they want to live.”
Maria Nemeth, Principal, Academy for Coaching Excellence
Janet MacDonald
I am a life coach with a private practice based in the Highlands of Scotland and I have been helping people to improve their lives for over 20 years. I have a wide experience of working with individuals and groups in the field of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, and in more recent years as a Life Coach, having undergone a rigorous training with the Academy of Coaching Excellence.
I feel that the skills and experience I gained from my earlier career as a shiatsu therapist and teacher informs and enriches my current work as a life coach. Both involve interacting with people, understanding their needs, directing them to look at areas of their lives that are not working effectively, and supporting them through changes that they wish to make in order to help them improve and enhance their health and lifestyle.
I am qualified with the Shiatsu Society as a teacher, practitioner, mentor and teachers’ trainer. As well as my private practice I have taught for 12 years with the Bristol School of Shiatsu and for 6 years brought my work to clients at the Bristol Cancer Help Centre. I am currently a paid up member of the International Coaching Federation.
I have lived most of my adult life in London and Bristol but 5 years ago returned to my roots, a place of outstanding natural beauty in the Western Highland of Scotland. A large percentage of my work now takes place over the telephone or in a residential setting. (see Sanctuary Sojourns)
I work by drawing out the best in people, focusing on their strengths and encouraging them to do the same. I strongly believe that everyone can achieve what they truly want and that each person has their own answers within them.
